Using Eventful.com, I found out that Tech N9ne and Murs were going to be coming to San Diego. I asked around the office and turns out that we know Tech N9ne's manager. I requested two general admission tickets and ended up getting 4 VIP tickets. It was me, Corey, Reshun, and Anthony. We left work around 2pm so we could go to the "meet and greet" at 3pm. Awkward! Basically it was 15 guys standing around the rappers in silence. I got some pictures and autographs, but the performers were hard to talk to. I was asking Murs some questions, but it just didn't seem like any of them wanted to be there. I would have been way disappointed if I paid $100 for that ticket. The awkwardness lasted almost an hour and then we dipped out to get something to eat before the show. We did some bar hoppin, got some pizza and made it back inside around 6:30pm. We went upstairs and grabbed front row sits. Reshun had never been in the House of Blues before so we figured we should show him the lounge before the show started. I didn't want to lose our sites, so we wrote the word "reserved" on a napkin and head out. About 30 minutes later, we went back upstairs. The first set was already performing and there were people standing all around the rail and sits, but it worked. Our seats were still there, front row. We sat for a while. Half way through Murs' performance we went downstairs to get closer. I was getting some more pictures, but the bouncer said no cameras, so I used my iPhone for the rest of the night. After the concert we were going to hit up a bar, but then just decided to get wings at TGIF's. I've decided that concerts aren't for me. The only reason I went was because it was free, but I ended up dropping a lot of money on food and alcohol anyway. I just wasn't impressed. Too many people, not enough space, my ears are still ringing. So maybe it wasn't a good idea to meet Murs, but I still like his music.
